About the Villa

The property is located in the prestigious of Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat, near Beaulieu-sur-mer. 
It is a grand villa spanning 6460 sq. ft. with a big swimming pool, a perfect example of what the South of France(Cote d’Azur) has to offer. 
This privately owned property is used primarily by the owners, and their guests on several occasions. 
The owners and the guests come to the villa 3 to 4 times a year, for a period of 2 to 3 weeks in a row. This is the busiest period in the villa.
The current staff in the villa operate on exceptionally high standards, and the team is very responsive to any kinds of demands. 
The management is overseen by the Villa Manager, who monitors the team from the site and takes care of other issues related to the property.

The project

We are looking for 1 Head Housekeeper/Assistant Manager, who is available to begin the contract in February. You would be hired under a permanent CDI contract, after the completion of your trial-period.

During the winters, the property is largely unutilizied as the owners come only 3 to 4 times a year. In addition, the property is undergoing remodelling, which means there are external contractors on the site on a daily basis. Hence, in the absence of the owners, you would be solely in-charge of the overall maintenance, the general housekeeping and safety of the villa. 

When the owners are present in the villa, you ensure smooth and discreet operations of the Housekeeping team, executing a majority of the tasks behind the scenes, without the owners being disturbed or taking notice. The owners appreciate peace and quiet in the house, and do not appreciate being bothered by the household staff.

When the owners are present in the villa, there would be 2 two junior housekeepers hired only when the owners come to the villa. You would be in charge of overseeing the operations of these 2 housekeepers as part of your duties.

As the Head Housekeeper/Assistant Manager, you would report directly to the Villa Manager, who would be your supervisor. You are not expected to take over the duties of this Villa Manager, but assist him within your capacity. It would be just yourself and the Villa Manager taking care of the Villa during the owner’s absence.

The ideal candidate is discreet, hands-on as a leader, well organised, and do not need to be reminded of the instructions multiple times. You are able to understand the instructions clearly during your initial days, and ensure that the rest of the team follows these standards.

You will be in-charge of managing 3 distinct areas:

  1. Laundry
  • Taking care of all the duties in regards to the Laundry generally speaking
  • Basically, you will in charge of all the linen of the Villa such as towels, bathrobes, bath mats, bed sheets, pillowcases, kitchen cloth, table cloth, etc...
  • You will be in charge of washing, cleaning, stain removal, drying them, ironing of linens
  • You will be in charge of cleaning the wardrobes and the dressings. 
  • You will ensure that the linens and clothes are in perfect state before they are put within the proper wardrobes and dressings. 
  • You will be in charge of cleaning the handbags and the shoes before putting them back in the wardrobes.
  • However, the owner's linen will go directly to the dry-cleaners, as will some of the bed linen to facilitate your work.  

  2. Housekeeping

  • You will be in-charge of vacuuming/cleaning floors, carpets, surfaces, etc.
  • You will be in-charge of making the beds, changing linens, setting up the bedrooms and bathrooms, etc
  • You will be in-charge of cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms, showers, toilets, sinks, and countertops
  • You will be in-charge of replenishes toiletries, towels, supplies, etc
  • Ensuring the main areas as corridors, living rooms are always dusted, tidy and well organized in accordance to the owner's habits. 
  • in charge of contacting (liaising with) the dry cleaners for all the owner's clothes which need specific treatment and ask them to come and collect them.

  3. Service

  • You will be in-charge of meal services - the breakfast, lunch and dinner services - Food & Beverages.
  • Setting up and cleaning the dining table, ceramics, cutlery, etc, before and after the meals
  • Discreetly serving the food and drinks as requested by the owners
  • Ensuring a discreet execution of services without being noticed by the owners, behind the scenes

Desired profile ,

  • You are extremely autonomous and able to report and respect your hierarchy at the same time. 
  • You are passionate about private household service, and you. like to work in private villas. 
  • Previous experience as a Housekeeper or as a Head Housekeeper in Private Luxury Villas is MANDATORY. 
  • Experience in Luxury Hotels or Hospitality is an advantage
  • You are a multi-tasking person and flexible, capable of following the processes that are already implemented in the property.
  • You are very reactive when facing difficult/unusual situations.  If someone in the team needs help, you are happy to volunteer. The team works very closely, including the Villa Manager who work hand-in-hand with the team. 
  • You are skilled in delegating with multiple parties to ensure the smooth functioning of the team
  • You are able to keep a smile on your face, and keep a positive attitude through most situations. 
  • You are a leader, but at the same time, have a good understanding of working in a team. 
  • You are always on time and well presented, you have a real sense of human relations and communication comes with an ease to you. 
  • You MUST speak French & English. 
  • You MUST have a car and a driving licence as you cannot access the Villa easily, public transport option cannot be considered. 
  • You DO NOT HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD, you are honest and trustworthy. 

Salary : 4500 euros net per month 
 
Contract: Permanent CDI - French Contract

Please Note: During the absence of the owners, you would have the weekends off (unless exceptionally required), but, you can expect your shifts to be longer when the owners are present in the villa.

Since this is a permanent CDI French contract, only candidates who are eligible to work in France with the proper EU documents/visas will be considered.
